Check the forecast for a couple of days, if you can. That’s just so you get, like your best chance of actually seeing that awesome view. It would be just a little sad to book and then not even make it up the mountain, you know?

It seems like there are ways to buy tickets, which is understandable, but sometimes the queues can just be totally hectic. Cape of Good Hope: Is it Really the End of the Earth?

Okay, so actually, the Cape of Good Hope, I found, is a place that, to some extent, mixes history with natural beauty and, frankly, it’s also something of a photo opportunity. Expect very dramatically rugged coastlines, apparently powerful ocean views, and all kinds of unique plant life, known very widely, too, as fynbos. Keep in mind that, no, the Cape of Good Hope is just a little bit actually NOT the meeting point of the Indian and Atlantic Oceans. Also, that most southerly point is actually Cape Agulhas, so just so you’re, you know, not telling everyone the wrong thing in that selfie!

Honestly, I also, frankly, found it surprisingly windy there, maybe unsurprisingly. Definitely bring something you can wear that will protect you from the elements because you can, clearly, get blasted by the wind and sun, and you would not actually be too happy if your hair was blowing wildly all over the place in your photographs. Too, its almost also, anyway, remember to look out for the wildlife: baboons and other creatures just, literally, live here! These guys, more or less, have zero fear of tourists. You, really, also don’t want them snatching food right out of your hand. Be vigilant, yet maintain a safe distance.

The Boulders Beach Penguin Colony: Cute but Crowded?

Boulders Beach, with its colony of African penguins, can actually be a super charming place to stop. I am saying this because these little tuxedoed birds are very very adorable. Also, that sight of them waddling around is likely something else, I assure you. That said, it actually can get seriously crowded. The way the boardwalks are set up allows you, more or less, to observe the penguins in their natural habitat. I also think that if you are really into, like your photography, or that you’re hoping for a very special, quite intimate experience with these cute animals, visiting just a bit early, or later in the day, is probably, certainly the better play here. It is quieter at those times.

That is almost another word of warning when dealing with those penguins, please be considerate and keep a respectful distance. These are basically wild animals, so avoid getting too close, alright? I do recommend just kind of hanging back a bit to, like your enjoy that spectacle without very maybe disturbing the animals. You also might consider bringing binoculars for, well, even better views. Anyway, also bear in mind the entrance fees, actually so that you’re, really, prepared for that as well. Honestly, just a bit helps to preserve that place.

Chapman’s Peak Drive: Scenic Route or Nausea Nightmare?

Honestly, Chapman’s Peak Drive is basically regarded as one of the globe’s most dramatic coastal roads, but here is a bit, more or less, of my take, maybe. I have heard that the views are spectacular and almost unbelievably picturesque, so its something I’d advise taking photos and videos, like your cameras and phones might not really do justice to it. This winding road hugs that mountainside and that provides that awesome perspective on the Atlantic Ocean. Just bear in mind this road is also subject to closures because of rockfalls, so you just need to know this very well.

That also said, anyone prone to carsickness, like you, might want to take medication beforehand, alright? All of the twists and turns just a little, actually, can be a lot, very understandably, so, frankly, be sure to hydrate as well, it is crucial. Also, your bus or transport will make a stop at a designated viewpoint. Those views will let you, to a degree, just take photos safely. I am very happy that its possible to capture your memories and so be grateful for the experience.

What Else is Included & Should You Expect

Anyway, full-day tours usually also cover the highlights along the Cape Peninsula. A lot, very much, really, depends on your specific tour, really, so, frankly, be sure that to read what your itinerary entails. Maybe just like, more or less, factor in Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, for instance, if that’s of, sort of, real interest to you. This place really showcases some beautiful flora.
