5-Day Tanzania Safari Review: Tarangire, Serengeti, Ngorongoro
Planning a safari is really like piecing together an enormous puzzle, is that right? So, Tanzania sits there high on a ton of people’s bucket lists, and with that, there’s really a reason. First Impressions: Is it all that?
You know, initial impressions? Everything really just starts well before you get to Tanzania. That’s where the pre-trip communication honestly counts. Tarangire: An Elephant Paradise, it almost looks untouched
So, you come in at Tarangire and that’s when you are met with just these sweeping savanna landscapes peppered, dotted, with these great big baobab trees—they name these “the Tree of Life,” it’s nearly awesome. Tarangire honestly appears to be pretty famous for its elephants, and that’s so for all of the very good reasons too. Pretty much, during just one afternoon, very large groups of them appear and go by the truck; I mean like, really massive herds of maybe 50 or even 100 really all kicking it at the watering hole. Does it get any better than that? That’s what the deal is. But the wildlife doesn’t just end with all the elephants of course; we did even spy the giraffes munching happily away, tons of different kinds of colorful birds and in fact a sneaky leopard getting comfy in the trees during one lazy mid-day hour too, it may come about.
Serengeti: Wide Open Spaces
Okay, and then there’s the Serengeti. When you consider all the buzz around “endless plains,” you basically aren’t ready for actually how large they feel. This is that very spot you drive to and then find that the horizon has just rolled out in all of its glorious color the whole day, that really seems to stretch all over. Here is when we really started going after all the Big Five. With the great help of our very keen-eyed guide—named John who knows just about everything that one should on every single living thing in this whole part—basically you locate lions just lazing nearly everywhere; lionesses who’re stalking gazelles for food with that deadly eye contact of hers, too it’s nearly something else completely. Food, Lodging and Overall Comfort, they are good though, not exactly top tier maybe?
Okay, so I will not gloss it over and be all too positive: what’s decent? I mean, that is one crucial element on what should be a multi-day journey, for sure. What actually went beyond expectations? Our camps all were placed in pretty key parts that really added that flavor you can find nowhere except, that almost seems likely. By flavor, so I really would have liked to wake right to that soft grunt from all the grazing zebras. Also, at night everything was almost always soothing. On most days though all the accommodation did well but could even be enhanced; a little polish and the experience actually turns into something more to behold perhaps.
The food does all go in line with what you get with these safaris; lots of very reliable, energizing lunches that really keep you feeling ready as you go game searching. Everything isn’t top quality food but nearly almost certainly will do the thing that it is expected. Also? Everything feels pretty well handled, there when anyone finds a unique diet preference actually exists, I did feel. A pretty solid “above average” sounds good enough!
The Guides: Truly Makes or Breaks all the Time, Right?
If ever everything will have to be noted as the important takeaway that any tourist may consider taking, let me mention this one: tour guides will always influence safaris really much! All the experience really came just as more insightful simply because our own personal tour guides all knew and cared for those landscapes more than something like anyone ever would who does not come straight from somewhere really that has them very. John always appeared able for doing exactly that work of really quickly going out to spot wildlife. Also the times everything really went all interesting whenever everything had really been when things got some type or explanation! If what to seek becomes learning very beyond really “there’s just one lion” John very well made one out to be one seminar of it.
